Dr. Kim received his B.S. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University in 2003 and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Metagenomics from Rockefeller University in 2010. Dr. Kim has over 15 years of academic and industrial experience across a range of disciplines including biochemistry, genomics, biophysics and microfluidics. Dr. Kim was program lead of Jet Fuel development at Amyris biotechnologies, prior to founding Slingshot Biosciences in 2012.
Dr. Liu received his A.B. summa cum laude in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University in 1999 and his Ph.D. in Genetics from UCSF in 2008. Dr. Liu has 18 years of experience in fungal pathogenesis and genetics. Dr. Liu was a biology lead in the Jet Fuel development program at Amyris biotechnologies, prior to founding Slingshot Biosciences in 2012.
Mr. Miller holds an extensive background in polymer science, technology development, and commercial manufacturing. At Slingshot Biosciences, he leads the developments of core technology, manages the next-generation products, and scales manufacturing capabilities. Most recently, he served as the Senior Process Development Engineer at Tactus Technology where he was responsible for technology development and manufacturing processes for microfluidic panels to bring to market the world’s first dynamic tactile interface touchscreen devices. Prior to Tactus, Mr. Miller was a lead engineer at CellASIC corporation developing the microfluidic cell analysis platform. The company was later acquired by EMD Millipore. Mr. Miller holds a B.S. in Bioengineering from University of California, Berkeley.
William Hyun directs the Laboratory for Advanced Cytometry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He leverages over 25 years of translational and clinical research experience into founder, investor and advisor roles for several biotechnology companies and life science investment groups. He continues to design and build next generation cell sorters, commercial flow cytometers and confocal microscopes.
